Life Purpose

STUDY GUIDE

“Until your desire to become you matches God’s desire for you to become you, you will never become who God intended you to be”

How passionate are you to see God’s purposes come to fruition in your life?

How aggressively are you pursuing the knowledge of God and His will for your life?

How desperate are you to locate that for which your life
has been called upward in Christ (Phil 3:12)?

Are you “pressing towards the goal to win the prize to which Christ Jesus is calling you upward?”

You will never see your potential maximized until there is a grabbing hold of destiny in your heart. You will never become the you God intended until you get serious about knowing Him and knowing His will. Jesus said that “the violent take the kingdom by force”

(Matt 11:12).

This violence is similar to the aggressiveness of a baby in the birth canal that is ready to start living life. You have got to mean business about serving the purposes of God in this generation, and get your priorities in line if you want to find that life that gives significance.

Chapter 14

Marching Orders

1. God’s revelation of purpose starts with small, daily assignments. The Father is always at work, and has assignments ready for us so that we can participate with Him in making history. How does Ananias and Peter’s life demonstrate this principle?

2. Many call this “being led by the Spirit” as His children. Share a personal example of “being led by the Spirit.” If you have not experienced one of life’s little miracles of being used by God, on assignment with an assignment, ask Him and report for duty.

3. There are seasonal assignments established for our lives that serve His eternal purpose. How did Nehemiah’s response to God demonstrate His faithfulness in a seasonal assignment? Give another illustration from scripture or church history?

4. There will be a point when life makes sense. A life assignment or life purpose will be revealed in due course. Joseph illustrates a commitment to endure until the dream becomes a reality. Explain why Joseph was able to endure the challenges he faced with an honorable heart and an excellent spirit.

5. Are you beginning to see the picture emerging from the puzzle of your life? Are you beginning to connect the dots? Can you see the why behind what you have had to face, or can you trust Him that, “in the fullness of time,” you will have understanding and see the “big picture?”
